The article discusses the application of contemporary films as an important tool to teach students about social problems in the U.S. It focuses the effectiveness of using film movies in reflecting and creating popular ideas about social problems. It mentions the use of popular media as a standard practice in sociology classrooms to examine the latest social issues in the country. It highlights several films used in teaching students about social life including "Dead Man Walking," "North Country," and "The Pursuit of Happyness." |
