The article explores the historical preservation and collections development of the Filson Historical Society under the management of historian Reuben T. Durrett. The author describes Durrett's efforts to erect monuments to Kentucky pioneers and contributions to the commemoration of the history of Kentucky and the Ohio River Valley. His influence on scholarship and public memory is discussed. |
