The article discusses the highlights of the 5th Marine Turtle Specialist Group (MTSG) Burning Issues Workshop (BI-5) held September 1 to 4, 2009, where 20 sea turtle experts all over the world attended. The progress of the Burning Issues process since it began in 2003 and its goal is provided. It reports that topics covered in the BI-5 workshop included reviewing and finalizing regional management units (RMUs) for all sea turtle species worldwide and finalizing the RMUs ranking criteria and methods for conservation, among others. |
