This article reprints the testimony of August Zaleski, then Poland's foreign minister, given before the Winiarski Commission on February 24, 1941. It provides his firsthand analysis and opinions with respect to the foreign policy decision-making of his predecessor, Józef Back, and also gives insight into Zaleski's own philosophy with respect to Polish pre-war foreign policy. The Winiarski Commission was created in 1940 to establish responsibility for the failed military campaign of 1939. [ABSTRACT FROM CONTRIBUTOR] |
