The article discusses the advent and application of the term "critical geopolitics," beginning circa 1990. The concept is said to represent a departure from Realpolitik to seeing social phenomena as a combination of power and knowledge and as an implicit moral thread in a postmodern world of discourse. The importance of the employment of system theory is emphasized in a post-colonial, feminist, and neo-Marxist approach to assessing social and political relations among protagonists and subjects. |
