| Abstrakt: | Chapter 5 of the book "The Tuskegee Airmen: The Men Who Changed a Nation" is presented. The chapter discusses the involvement of the 99th Fighter Squadron in the Sicilian campaign in Italy. According to the author, after the fall of Pantelleria, the Allies shifted their attention to the island of Sicily which they aimed to capture as a staging point for an invasion of the Italian mainland.
