The article discusses the drawing of Pyramus and Thisbe done by Italian Baroque artist Pietro Bianchi (1694-1740) at the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts in Hungary. The author considers adaptations of the story of Pyramus and Thisbe in art, literature, and music from the classical, medieval, and modern periods. A synopsis of the plot taken from Roman author Ovid's version of the mythological story is presented.
