Abstrakt: The article presents the study which explores the prevalence of cryptosporidium parvum infection in goats in the southeast of Spain. It notes that cryptosporidium have an economic impact to farmers due to high morbidity and mortality rate of farm animals. It states that the goats were maintained on semi-extensive feeding conditions in the southeast part of Spain. Furthermore, parasite oocytes were identified after the fecal specimens have undergone a Ziehl-Neelsen acid fast technique. Meanwhile, in a semi-quantitative analysis, results show that the infection intensity decreases with age. Moreover, the study concludes that the prevalence of cryptosporidium is high on the studied zone.
