A self-assessment of the Defense Nuclear Security (NA-70) Material Control and Accountability Program Self-Assessment to evaluate the Headquarters support was performed. The assessment process, responsibilities of the MC&A Program Manager, and the lines of inquiry for the assessment were initially developed. Interviews were conducted with program personnel from NNSA Site offices and Management &Operating Contractors. In general, the results indicated that the program manager fully met the requirements and had proactively participated and established initiatives to continue to assure that the MC&A Program was efficient and effective. There were no findings but there were several observations and inputs from interviewees which when implemented on a prioritized basis will further improve the program and the organization. This self-assessment also establishes a model that can be implemented across the other functions and programs in the organization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
