The article discusses Andrea Camilleri's fictitious character Inspector Montalbano. The article compares Montalbano to Georges Simenon's inspector character Jules Maigret and examines Montalbano's identification of himself with Maigret. The author discusses how Camilleri uses the techniques of allusion and adaptation. |
