The article focuses on a study which examined the influence of the size of the orifices in the cage floor on the injuries in cage-bred wild rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus). A description of the cage where wild rabbit kits, captured from the Southern Iberian Peninsula, were placed is presented. Study authors found that the injuries commonly inflicted by the kits due to their cages include closed bone fractures, vertebral dislocations and skin erosions. |
