Abstrakt: The article discusses the views of P. F. Bang on the Roman economy. It mentions that Bang suggests the transition of the economy from being primitive to historical otherness by becoming a bazaar economy. Bang defines bazaar as a trade with high uncertainty of information with unpredictable supply and demand which causes the prices to be volatile. However, despite the argumentation of Bang, the author believes that Bang was unable to demonstrate the historical otherness of the Roman bazaar and hopes that other scholars will be able to come up with more convincing examples and arguments.
