Abstrakt: The article discusses a study on the Hosta virus X (HVX) that has infested Hosta spp. The virus can be spread through infected plant material propagation, use of contaminated tools and seed transmission. The HVX ImmunoStrip, a diagnostic kit detects HVX and its symptoms such as leaf twisting, distortion and ringspots. Several approaches for the management of the virus include the purchase of plants from reputable sources, avoidance of plants whose appearance suggest virus infection and destruction of infected plants.
