This article discusses the amendments to the Duties Act 2000 of Australia made by the Duties Amendment Act 2009. It identifies several transactions that became dutiable under the Duties Amendment Act, including the grant of a lease for which consideration other than rent reserved is paid. It also enumerates several transactions that became dutiable under beneficial ownership provisions: the creation of dutiable property, the extinguishment of dutiable property, and a change in the equitable interests of dutiable property. |
