Abstrakt:	The article offers information on Christmas beetles. There are 36 different Christmas beetles in Australia, many of which are brightly colored. Christmas beetles usually come out during December nights and can defoliate a young eucalyptus tree by dawn due to their appetite. Christmas beetles start as underground larvae feeling on decaying matter, pupate for several weeks in spring and then come out as adults after rain has softened the soil.
