This paper examines the new development of communication studies in China for the last 2 years from 5 research fields. Firstly, the communication theory is focus on the historical reflection as well as the realistic exploration, which are two major forces to drive the academic research forward. Secondly, media economics and management is generally becoming a major study field which is attracted higher attention and expectation. Thirdly, the research about advertisement and public relation achieved new development, by exceeding ordinary practice experience and searching deeper theoretical foundation. Fourthly, the new media and computer-mediated communication studies is enjoying its prosperity since the internet exert real important influence in Chinese social life, and many new issues are raised to compose challenges to communication theory and practice. Finally, the research of publication and editing is newly introduced field demonstrated its own development logic, which is connected firmly with this discipline. When the harvest is coming, the drawback cannot be hidden. Calling for more original studies and theoretical quintessence have unique meanings in the key moment of the academic development of communication studies in China. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
