Abstrakt: The article presents a study which investigates the effectiveness of Apiburg, a stainless basin integrated at a beehive to trap flying intruders. It cites that the trap was tested for three successive years in Thessaloniki, Greece and used five experimental colonies of bees. The data shows that the trap is efficient against the attack of moths, wasps, robber bees without the use of baits. The author assumes that the trap will also be good against aethina tumida, a small hive beetle (SHB).
