Abstrakt: The article discusses the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) in calculating the hull resistance of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). It describes the hull resistance as a vital factor in establishing the power requirements and range of the AUVs. It also discusses the optimization of the vehicle's hull profile to lower total resistance. Results show the distribution of hydrodynamic values, such as velocity and pressure, of AUVs with ducted propeller.
