Abstrakt: The article presents a dynamics model of the float-counterweight wave energy converter that considers the vertical and horizontal motions of the float, which heaves and surges. The model is generated from equations of the electric generator, force balance, float motion, and driving pulley motion. The article concludes that the model underestimates the heave and surge displacements but has a good agreement for energy gain.
