Abstrakt: The article presents a methodology for finding the in-service structural capacities of No.96 and MKIII Membrane Insulation Systems (MIS) in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) tanks which was developed by ExxonMobil. It describes No. 96 and MKIII Membrane Insulation Systems, testing and constitutive behavior of materials as well as component testing to develop the static and dynamic capacities of the MIS for in-service conditions. The capacities are used to assess the integrity of LNG carriers' MIS under varying conditions.
