The article discusses the status of migrant farmworkers in the U.S. and how nurses in the faith community can help meet their health needs. Migrant farmworkers are exposed to harsh conditions and the strain of long hours of manual labor. As a result, migrant families have a higher risk for cancer, heart disease and diabetes. The authors conclude that nurses are well equipped to help the faith community in providing care for migrant families. |
