| Abstrakt: | The article provides a definition of the philosophies of prescriptivism and descriptivism. It presents an argument in which nouns are worth maintaining and English language is destroyed when such distinctions are lost. It suggests that proper communication should require that all speakers of a language, including descriptivists, agree on common rules and meaning. |
