Abstrakt: The article focuses on the efficiency of ultrafiltration as the standard initial treatment for patients with acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) and sodium-volume overload. It offers information on sodium as the major determinant of extracellular fluid volume. It also discusses the ineffectivity of using diuretics in reducing total body sodium. Furthermore, it also emphasizes that ultrafiltration must be the standard in measuring all other treatments.
