Abstrakt: Taking advantage of an innovative university program to bring faculty together for interdisciplinary endeavors, a faculty insight team was formed that focused on issues of gender. Embedded into the research collaboration was the use of individual and group reflection. Brookfield's (1995) Critically Reflective Teacher and Stevens and Cooper's (2002) Reflecting on Your Journey provided the starting point for using reflection within the group and led to further exploration of the reflection literature. Reflections were conducted at three points in time: midyear, end of the first academic year, and in year two. Key reflection themes addressed building collegiality and shared thinking space. This article discusses the challenges and advantages of using collaborative reflection to enhance teaching and research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
