The article focuses on a study which described a new Dodecaceria species obtained from the southwestern Atlantic shore of Argentina. The Genus Dodecacera meridiana was identified and examined. The species is only known for Mar del Plata, in intertidal stony-rocks around sewage outfall and in shallow subtidal stony patches. The worm is capable of building hard tubes and they settle in holes and crevices in stones-rocks. The species has a large number of pair of branchiae with the first pair between the peristomium and the second in the first chaetiger. It was observed that pattern of capillary chaetes and spoon-shapes hooks were unique in the species. |
