Abstrakt: The article traces the origin of the Scottish children's song, titled "Coulter's Candy." It was found that Robert Coltart, a confectioner who made and sold candies round the town of Scottish Borders in Scotland, was creator of the song. Printed sources reveal the identity and characteristics of Coulter as well as information about his death. Sources also indicate that the song was created as an advertising jingle.
