The Lithuanian teacher, Stanislava Riškute-Stripinienė, born in 1933 not far away from Žagarė (Joniškis District) collected a great deal of folklore and many people's stories while living in Plateliai (Plunge District) since 1960. She recorded on to old cassette tapes and when out of space wrote things down. She collected a large pile of notes. Therein are stories of brothers Jeronimas (19o4-1994) and Jonas (1913-1993) Užpaliai from Pamedlinčiai village. They talk about their complicated lives. The narrative is rich in authentic Samogitian ethnographical details and flavoured by the intricacies of their world view. The narrative is published in the Samogitian dialect.
