The article focuses on a trawl survey aimed at assessing shrimp and forage fish populations at the Gulf of Alaska conducted by scientists at the Resource Assessment and Conservation Engineering (RACE) Division of the Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC) and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) in 2008. The Resolution, a research vessel, was used for tows in embayments. The division and the ADF&G are collaborating to deal with their time series databases. The survey found that the capture of shrimp was widespread in Kodiak Island. |
