Abstrakt: A biography of Geoff Ling, folk singer and dancer, is presented. He was born in Blaxhall, Suffolk on July 29, 1916 into a family of singers and songs. He worked on local farms and visited pubs in other villages for quoits matches and singing with his father. He was wounded and imprisoned during the second world war and forced to slavery on the Burma Railway and Borneo salt mines. He married Nora Smith and sang regularly with the Blaxhall singers at The Ship. They recorded and released several albums before he retired. He died on February 16, 2009.
