Abstrakt:	The article discusses on the features of IBM i 6.1, a recovery application that has a capability to save storage space while integrated servers are active. IBM i 6.1 features backups through its storage-space snapshots and the new save while active options. Two parameters are used to save a storage space the Save Active (SAVACT) and Save While Active Option (SAVACTOPT). Instruction to modify freeze and thaw scripts in instances that Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) is not granted is offered.
