Abstrakt: Humid organic bio-wastes from municipal facilities performing aerobic degradation contain soluble lignin-like substances (cHALi) with excellent surfactant properties. These substances can be recycled to the chemical industry to manufacture products for use in most applications where synthetic surfactants are employed. For cHALi isolated from different biowaste mixtures this paper reports data on chemical composition, surface activity properties, molecular aggregation behaviour in solution, capacity to enhance the aqueous solubility of hydrophobic molecules, performance as auxiliaries for textile dyeing and detergents manufacture, and other data on their behaviour as templates for inorganic nanoparticles formation and properties as dispersants, emulsifier and flocculatin agents. The data encourage process and product development to commercial level for bio-based products isolated not only from urban wastes, but also from other bio-residues. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
