Abstrakt: The article discusses a court case wherein the British Court of Appeal ruled that the order issued to the appellant to pay prosecution costs, particularly the amount of the accountants' report commissioned by the police force, was just and reasonable under Section 18 of the Prosecution of Offences Act 1985. In R. v. Balshaw, the appellant was convicted of conspiracy and ordered to pay £22,600 in prosecution costs, of which £13,600 was the cost of the accountancy report.
