Abstrakt: The article presents a study which examines stern slamming for a modern liquified natural gas (LNG) carrier under two loading situations. In assessing the stern slamming of the carrier, the study includes prediction of hydrodynamic impact loads and their impact on the dynamic global structural behavior of the hull girder. By computing Reynolds Average Navier-Stokes (RANS) pressures, researchers found the specification of transient hydrodynamic slamming loads.
