Abstrakt: Chapter 11 of the book "Write Black, Write British: From Post Colonial to Black British Literature," edited by Kadija Sesay is presented. It traces the origins of The Federation of Worker Writers and Community Publishers in Great Britain. It explores the historical conditions that led to the formation of this working class organisation. It argues that its little-known role in promoting an emerging Black British cultural identity should be recognised.
