| Abstrakt: | This essay is presents the importance of style in student writings, and the use of handbooks. It examines the disappearance of the study of style from rhetoric's disciplinary research agenda, and links the decline of disciplinary interest in style to contemporary writing handbooks. It also presents suggestions on re-introducing style to writing classrooms. |
