Abstrakt:	An interview with British musical theater actor Michael Ball is presented. He explains that he auditioned for the role of Edna Turnblad in the musical "Hairspray," after he saw the play in Broadway six years ago and promised that he would do anything to play that role. According to him, the play is primarily about acting and every role should be approached as an actor. He states that he has a deep respect for the audience and he wants to please and make them proud in him.
