The article profiles the Danish sound artist Jacob Kirkegaard. In 2005, he went to the Zone of Alienation, an evacuation area of the Soviet officers after the nuclear catastrophe in 1986 in Chernobyl, Ukraine, to record the silence of the building's four various rooms. In his 2007 exhibition "Labyrinthitis," he showcases how vibration in the inner ear creates a third frequency. Moreover, his latest project "Nagaras," a photographic series, depicts his endeavors on a mysterious sound phenomenon. |
