Chapter 18 of the book "Essential Tissue Healing of the Face and Neck" is presented. It offers information on irradiated temporal bone. A historical perspective on radiotherapy is presented, including the clinical indications for radiotherapy. The etiology and clinical findings associated with radiation injuries are discussed, along with the effects of radiation on external, middle and inner ear. The chapter also discusses the pathogenesis and risk factors for radiation-induced temporal bone wound. |
