Abstrakt: The article focuses on a study which described the results of the recalibration of the Cameco lung counting system. It cites the Japanese Atomic Energy Research Institute (JAERI) torso phantom as a primary calibration source of the system. It mentions the modifications made to the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) torso phantom with the intention of extending the lungs to make them more realistic in their length and increase the number of the overlay plates to better represent the male workforce. It describes the specifications of the mobile lung counter supplied by Canberra Industries and its subcontractors.
