Decreasing Elevator Travel Among University Women by Utilizing Point-of-Decision Sign Prompts Encouraging Stair Use: A Pilot Investigation.

Abstrakt: The article presents a study on utilizing motivational signs to encourage stair use and decrease elevator travel among university women. The investigation considered three factors in doing the study including direction of travel, race/ethnicity, and weight classification. The data gathering was done at the main entrance of a classroom building. Point-of-decision prompts or motivation signs encouraging stair use are used during the study which saw a decrease in elevator use among females by 12.1 percent.
