Abstrakt: Chapter 5 of the book "Organized Crime and Politics in Jamaica" is presented. It explores the hindrances to the effective resolution of organized crime in the country, which includes incompetence of authorities, corruption, and lack of accountability. It concludes that an inefficient government and social system propagate organized crime in Jamaica. The chapter states that the only solution is for the state to accomplish its functions of delivering services, such as an efficient security and justice system.
