Autor: Olmstead, David
Zdroj: Southwestern Lore; Jun1951, Vol. 17 Issue 1, p14-15, 2p
Abstrakt: The article presents discussion of the linguistic classification of the Kiowa Indian language in relation to neighboring tribes of the Algonquins and Shoshoneans. Citations and commentary are given regarding published research by archaeologist-anthropologist G. I. Gropley in 1951 discussing the Ute-Aztecan origins of the Kiowa and questioning the level of relations between the Kiowa and the Shoshoneans. Further discussion is given asserting the possible connections between the Kiowa and the Tanoan cultures.
