Information about the gay and lesbian rights movement in the U.S. and abroad is presented. It states that the U.S. gay activism focuses on legal issues in midcentury due to their experience during World War II. Moreover, U.S. gay rights movement accelerated in early 1960s due to the accomplishments of the African- American-led civil rights movement and the growth of the anti-Vietnam War movement. |
