Abstrakt:	The article discusses the Birmingham Spinner project of educators that involves schools, homes and communities during the National Year of Reading in England. The project aims to use oral tradition to empower children to develop their own spoken and written voices. The author is hopeful that purely listening of story telling would re-focus the power of language in the mind of youngsters.
