| Abstrakt: | The article discusses a court case wherein the appellant wanted to prevent the defendant to publish certain Vietnam War documents for national security purposes. In 1971, The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York was asked by the government to prevent the newspaper "New York Times" in publishing the documents. According to the defendant New York Times Company, the First Amendment protected its publication of the excerpts. The Supreme Court dismissed the government's effort to stop the publication of the documents. |
