| Abstrakt: | The grassy expanse off South Drive known as Mother's Meadow in Golden Gate Park was designated as a safe place where mothers and their children would be safe from some of the wilder antics, such as men racing horses, that were popular pastimes. That danger has passed, but the verdant spot remains one of the most popular places in the city for parents, grandparents, nannies and their charges to enjoy picnics and playtime.
