This article explores strategies being developed by chip manufacturers to operate their fabricators more efficiently utilizing overall equipment efficiency (OEE) at various levels as of April 2009. The concept of OEE is made up of three major components which include availability, performance and quality. The usefulness of OEE is reportedly highest on tools that limit factory production, known as constraint or bottleneck tools. |
