The article discusses the issue of municipal politics in Alberta. It is believed that a political candidate in Alberta is considered effective and be elected if he is a member of Conservative banner. Brian Pincott ran twice for the federal New Democratic Party (NDP) in Calgary in 2004 and 2006 elections, but he never succeeds. In 2007, he was elected to Calgary city council without a party banner. This shows that Albertans choice candidates base on their merits. |
