| Abstrakt: | The author expresses disappointment over the decision of the U.S. Congress to extend the deadline for the transition from analog to digital television (TV) from February 17 to June 12, 2009. He comments on the move by Congress to allocate another $650 million for more $40 converter box coupons. In the author's view, the TV conversion program has transformed into another one of those government programs, like the Rural Electrification Act, that will a century past its stated goal. |
