Abstrakt: The clinical procedure of bleaching teeth with laser systems has recently come into use. Laser energy is a new tool to improve the in-office bleaching of teeth. Nevertheless, there are drawbacks: heat is generated, and the process is relatively expensive. Blue LED systems represent a new means of curing composites. LED emits a straight band of electromagnetic spectra without infrared wavelengths, so heat is absent. A clnincal case is presented in which a blue LED system was used to activate a bleaching agent. The patient had a stained maxillary right central incisor as a result of endodontic treatment. The nonvital tooth was prepared for internal and extracoronal bleaching treatment, using Er:YAG laser (2940 nm) to prepare lingual access and smear layer removal. A photoactivated red bleaching agent was chosen and the halogen light was replaced by a blue LED system (470 nm). Just one session was performed. The 2-month follow-up care concludes this paper.
